BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO
1,000 miles of that special BAJA spirit. Whether you drive the entire Transpeninsular highway, fly into the tip or arrive by ferry from mainland Mexico, get ready for an adventure. This land of quiet, colorful deserts, endless beaches, unexplained rock formations, missions, gray whales, brilliant clear skies and a unique people invites you for the unforgettable!
THINGS TO DO
The well-kept secret of the Baja is told in the variety of things to do there. Fly in and concentrate your time in one area, diving or fishing in the summer, whale watching January to March Kayak, surf, wind surf, cycle, golf, hike, fish, snorkel, sail or take in a special event: Carnival in late February or March, the Baja 1,000 in November, or any of the entertaining Mexican fiestas.

Tijuana - Handicrafts, rustic style furniture at attractive prices, clothing and many imported items, including a wide assortment of European perfumes. Take advantage of Tijuana's duty free prices. Looking for excitement? Tijuana offers wagering on greyhound racing and on Jai-Alai, the fastest game in the world! Tijuana also offers two bull rings for bullfighting, which attracts locals and tourists alike on Sundays from May through September. There are two very good golf courses near by, and after the sun goes down, a host of restaurants and bars keep the action alive until well into the evening.

An excellent 18 hole golf course is 10 minutes north at Real Del Mar, with the other golf resort at Bajamar about a half hour down the coast.
Rosarito Beach
Much of the popularity of Rosarito must be credited to its location, only 18 miles south of the U.S. border. It's a great one day getaway for folks from Southern California, and a great weekend destination for anyone crossing the border headed south. On warm days the beaches are filled with many activities including surfing, body surfing, volleyball, horseback riding, all terrain vehicles, and that ever popular past time...sunbathing!

Ensenada
Ensenada is a big port town, handling everything from fishing boats to cruise ships. A new yacht harbor just north of town caters to pleasure craft, and the facilities are excellent. Ensenada's popularity is increasing. Its close proximity to the US border, coupled with its diverse attractions and special cultural flavor promises to keep Ensenada near the top of the list of Baja destinations for adventurers looking for a quick getaway!
