The inland communities of San Luis Obispo County are tucked between the valleys and the mountains - surrounded by vineyards, farmland, and California oaks. The natives are very friendly and more than happy to share their little slice of paradise with visitors. This part of the Central Coast has a long history of welcoming travelers.

CAMBRIA CALIFORNIA “Where the Pines Meet the Sea”. At the foot of the scenic Highway One Big Sur Coast, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, lies the quaint seaside village of Cambria. This artist’s colony is nestled in a forest of towering Monterey Pines, and offers visitors sophisticated restaurants and lodging, art galleries, antique and specialty shops, and scores of nearby wineries.

While in Cambria you can enjoy beachcombing, surfing, hiking, biking, fishing and kayaking. Gray whales, seals, sea otters and elephant seals can be spotted from local beaches. The “cool Mediterranean” climate offers clear blue skies, light seasonal fog and temperatures averaging 50-70 degrees. Dress casually and carry a light jacket for evenings.

The year begins with the fabulous Art & Wine Festival, and along with many other barbeques and musical events, is followed by the Chili Cook Off and Car Show in the spring. The 4th of July is celebrated by a picnic in the Park and a beautiful fireworks display over the ocean. Labor Day weekend brings the Pinedorado Parade and Fair. Then our December “Christmas Village” enjoys the Decorated Christmas Tree Auction and Hospitality Night.

Just six miles south of the world renowned Hearst Castle, this picturesque village is known for its friendly locals and its quiet, country atmosphere. From Highway 101, take Highway 46 west to scenic coastal Highway One. The nearest airport and car rentals are in San Luis Obispo, 33 miles to the south.

Please come, relax, and restore your spirit in beautiful CAMBRIA “Where the Pines Meet the Sea”. For information: (805)-927-3624 or www.cambriachamber.org
